Paint Challenge

A call went out by a few friends a month or two ago for a paint challenge. As this coincided with my desire to quit playing WOW, it was the perfect way to get painting again. Although I have not been as productive, I am happy to be finishing things which have sat for so long. These are commission paints.

I forgot how much of a pain painting whole units non-dip style is. This army was my first attempt at snow basing, meant to look more like trampled muddy battleground or spring thaw in the dwarven mountains. Im not real pleased with the outcome, but hopefully have learned a bit from it.

Terminators, Terminators and more Terminators. A simple, yet effective techinque, the basecoat is spraypaint, dipped to highlight and then a palette of less than probably 10 colors for various details of each model. When all is said and done he will have about 3/4 of the First company, and a badass army for Apocalypse games.

NEONCON!

Last weekend was Neoncon, a con featuring a crapload of RPG fun, as well as other boardgames, tabletop minis battles, and gamer silliness. Spent my time over 3 days there playing 4e LFR and eating casino buffet food...

Left: A random shot just before/after encountering the Bloodrot!
Right: My friends Rob and Jason. Jason needs a char sheet next time and not that POS laptop. :)

Our party is complete!

The photo on the right is the stock mini from the Reaper website. I liked the pose but needed to add some required equipment.

A small step

WOOT! My WOW account is now lapsed and wont let me log in because they can't bill me. More precious time for minis. Instead of playing, I primed and prepped my last two Fallen Empire campaign characters: Lina the Half-Elf Ranger and Malidar the mighty battle leader.

Current Stuff- DnD 4e Minis for LFR and Fallen Empire

Some past work- Eisenhorn Diarama

A Place to Motivate...

So, I'm finally joining this era of in-your-face communication, and I'm using it as a way to keep myself focused on my time waster of choice. I'm going to attempt to post progress and display work in the hope that it will keep me away from the worst form of hours killed: the dreaded MMORPG. Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoy what you see. -Will
