NEONCON!
Last weekend was Neoncon, a con featuring a crapload of RPG fun, as well as other boardgames, tabletop minis battles, and gamer silliness. Spent my time over 3 days there playing 4e LFR and eating casino buffet food... Left: A random shot just before/after encountering the Bloodrot! Right: My friends Rob and Jason. Jason needs a char sheet next time and not that POS laptop. :)
I'm sad I missed it ... but I think it was a good choice not to attend. I like 4E but I don't think I like it enough to spend 400 bucks and 3 days on it ... for Strategicon I am willing to do that but not LFR. Hopefully one day the same group of you guys will trek down to Strategicon or Rincon with me! See ya'll in February :)
I encountered DND at an early age (middle school) when introduced by a buddie's uncle. He was an old school DM and was truly great. After seeing some painted minis he brought, I was hooked on this awesome hobby. I began to aquire a few minis with what little money I had, and painted mine or my friend's to practice. I continued to do this until High School, where teenage confusion temporarily put this on hold. I met a few great friends through mutual music taste (Metal FTW \m/ ). One of my new friends also happened to play a game known as Warhammer Roleplay (This guy also turned out to be an awesome GM). I agreed to give it a try, and again I was swept back into the hobby, this time for good. WHFR led to an interest in miniatures, then tabletop games, which exploded into the hobby as a whole. My H S buddies eventually went away to other lives, and my girlfriend (now my wife) saw how much I missed my favorite hobby. She looked online and found a local Gamers club. Through this group I made many great gaming connections, some of which I still maintain today. Im hoping that I can keep gaming as a happy and constant part of my life, while also having a life.
