Its been such a long time...
I finally managed to complete a few commission paints for a local GW fan. I have never painted anything in the Inquisitor scale before, so the Eversor was going to be fun. I was really happy with the outcome, since I am not a fan of the old 40k sculpt with the giant ugly skull head. I tried to straddle the line between stealth and "screw stealth its time to cut the enemy to bits til I blow up" which is I guess the Eversor temple's thing. The Brittonian knight was also new to me. AlsI am happy with the depths on the yellows, and for a plastic mini it has a good amount of detail. There are a lot of flat areas on this mini where decals need to be applied. The last mini is Ginni the Seer, the newest member of our 4e Numinis group. I am really pleased with the outcome of this model, and don't think the pics do it justice. (Light issues :( ) The eyeball on the staff is actually her familiar in game. More to follow soon.
I encountered DND at an early age (middle school) when introduced by a buddie's uncle. He was an old school DM and was truly great. After seeing some painted minis he brought, I was hooked on this awesome hobby. I began to aquire a few minis with what little money I had, and painted mine or my friend's to practice. I continued to do this until High School, where teenage confusion temporarily put this on hold. I met a few great friends through mutual music taste (Metal FTW \m/ ). One of my new friends also happened to play a game known as Warhammer Roleplay (This guy also turned out to be an awesome GM). I agreed to give it a try, and again I was swept back into the hobby, this time for good. WHFR led to an interest in miniatures, then tabletop games, which exploded into the hobby as a whole. My H S buddies eventually went away to other lives, and my girlfriend (now my wife) saw how much I missed my favorite hobby. She looked online and found a local Gamers club. Through this group I made many great gaming connections, some of which I still maintain today. Im hoping that I can keep gaming as a happy and constant part of my life, while also having a life.
