After a very long hiatus from warmachine and mini games in general, listening to podcasts has renewed my interest in painting and minis again. One of the podcasts I really enjoy is
Chain Attack , a warmachine podcast which has a really nice formula and the hosts have great personalities. Listening inspired me to dig out my old Cygnar minis, and a friend who also wanted to renew his interest in the game dragged out his old Menoth stuff. We played a 25 pt game, and had a great time. So after one game to get things started, the following week we made the silly decision to compete in the local steamroller at
Little Shop of Magic. Although I know tournament play to be hectic, 7 min rounds are no joke. The pace was dizzying, and the gaps in my knowledge of the rules and of my opponent's minis made for difficult games. I actually wound up having a good time though, and 2 of my 3 opponents were cool and I didn't mind getting beaten down by them. Hopefully I can find time for the off game here or there, and want to eventually get back into 40K with 6th edition.
